Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew says his recovery is on track after playing in a 2-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Benfica on Friday.
He played for hour before being replaced by Gadi as new coach Elie Baup trims the rough edges before the start of the Ligue 1.
"Personally, I had not played for a month and a half. My legs were tired, but I returned gradually. My shoulder is better and this is what is most important," Ayew told Marseille's official website.
Ayew has been sidelined for three months after performing an operation to correct a shoulder injury.
The 22-year-old picked up the injury at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals but played through the pain barrier at club level before going under the knife in April.
Ayew's future at Marseille has been speculated after the team's disappointing display last season.
It is believed he may be tempted to leave the French outfit in order to play in the Champions League.
