Head coach of the Uganda national team Milutin
Head coach of the Uganda national team Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has urged the newly appointed Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to prove his critics wrong.
The Al Khatoum coach was earlier on Tuesday named as the successor to Avram Grant, who left the team after the end of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Micho, who himself was linked with the top job was quick to express his delight at the appointment and encouraged him to win over his critics.
“I am happy for you Ghanaians for choosing a coach you wanted and I am happy for his comeback,” Micho told Kumasi-based Abusua FM.
“I want him to prove his critics that he is the best coach. I wish him good luck. I just read the news on Ghana FA website, and to be honest I’m happy for him.”
This is second time Akwesi Appiah is taking up the coaching rein after guiding the nation to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where they failed to win a game and he resigned just after the tournament by mutual consent.
