Cruiserweight boxer Ayittey Powers last Sunday dawn proved too strong for less fancied Joe Sarbah in their contest at the Wembley Park, Kotobabi.

Sarbah started ferociously; throwing close to 20 unanswered blows in the first round but fizzled out shortly, and allowed his opponent to take over the bout that lasted for just four rounds.

By the fourth round, Sarbah who had run out of steam, visited the canvass earlier after Powers pursued him aggressively; hitting almost all his targets.

Referee Roger Barnor stopped the fight in round four. Ironically Team Sarbah expressed gross anger at the referee’s decision indicating the boxer had more energy to continue the fight.

The win hands Powers a three streak win record after the Bukom Banku defeat.

It was the Issac Dogbe-Raymond Ansah Featherweight contest that ignited fire works on the evening that drew large boxing lovers including boxing legend Azumah Nelson.

Dogbe, domiciled in the US and a former Black Bomber, outclassed Ansah in his debut pro bout in Ghana from start till referee May Mensah Akakpo saved the latter from further punishment in the third round.

Similarly, the Emmanuel Quartey aka Akufo Addo- Isaac Nettey Commonwealth Bantamweight eliminator thrilled the fans with the former distinguishing himself till he handed stubborn Nettey a seventh round TKO.

In other bouts, Sumaila Badu triumphed over Atta Kofi, while Habib Mohammed succumbed to David Okine in their Super Middleweight contest.

Sheriff Quaye overpowered Al Emmanuel in the Lightweight contest with Emmanuel Danso emerging winner over Kwesi Tutu in a Light heavyweight contest.

Strong boxer Obodai Sai registered a unanimous points win over Emmanuel Donkor in their Light Heavyweight contest after six rounds.

The eight bouts christened ‘Night of Fire’ was put together by Wembley Promotions and supported by Joy Industries Limited (Joy Daddy Bitters).
