Brong Ahafo United, the gala Lords, are favoured as the team to watch in the up- coming Premier League, Coach Nana Awuah told the GNA on Monday.
He said having announced their re-entry to the premiership by capturing their maiden gala trophy, in the history of the club, it has sounded warning to other clubs that this year's league would be the one for the "men".
Coach Awuah, head of the Technical team of the Brong Ahafo club told the GNA Sports in Accra that the team has put in place all the necessary measures to prevent them from going back to the lower division. He said the team is disciplined and committed and is determined to cause another surprise as it happened during the gala competition. Nana Awuah predicted that no club could beat B.A united at home in the coming season while the club has its own programme of containing away matches.
His claim was buttressed by Julilu Abubaker, a player of the club who intimated that United have enough quality players to unsettle any team and predicted that the team could be amongst the first three at the end of the season. The player was full of praise for his colleagues for their tactical discipline saying this would enhance their chances in the season.
In a related development, Accra Great Olympics have vowed to challenge for the league title this year and earn a place to represent Ghana in the African Champions League or at worst, in the CAF Cup competition. Mr Richard Solomon, chairman of the "Wonder Club" said the management of the team has installed new structures, which would enable the wonders to return and ensure a distinctive performance in the league.
He told the GNA that the greatest problem of the club had been goal scoring but steps have been taken to address that and make Olympics one of the highest goal scoring sides in the premiership.
"I expect our strikers to play to their full potentials as there will be the incentive and motivation to fuel their determination to win matches and once we start winning, our supporters will return and the blue and white colours will once more be predominant at the stadia when Olympics play," he said.
