The Kotoko International Airport in Accra must brace up for the mammoth arrival of a mysterious visitor, as perhaps, the most cryptic human of Ghanaian decent, Mario Balotelli is set to arrive ‘home’ anytime soon.

Biological Parents of the AC Milan striker, Thomas and Rose Barwuah have arrived in their Ghanaian hometown of Konogo from their Brescia base and Italy and revealed that the enigmatic footballer has finally decided to come meet his extended family.

There were widespread reports in Ghana in 2012 that Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure was said to have convinced his then team mate, to visit Accra that summer, with majority of Ghanaian greeting the news with exhilaration but the Azzuri striker failed to honour the visit.

There were also rumours that Balotelli would attend the burial of his grandparent who passed on two years ago but Mario, again, never showed up.

Many are of the belief that Balotelli despises Ghana but he recently took to Twitter and Instagram to congratulate the Ghana Football team, the Black Stars for reaching the final of the African Cup in Equatorial Guinea but expressed his disappointment that his ‘original country’ was unable to emerge victorious.

He Tweeted: Proud of my original country. Unlucky but you guys gave everything and deserve a win.

The parents say their sons recent attitudinal change towards Ghana have given strong hints that he has finally decided to come home to meet his family and also find out more about his real home country.

“The parents arrived in Konongo a couple of days ago and they have gone round to meet all the other family members as custom demands”, A family source told Sportscrusader.com

“They have given strong indications that Balotelli has told them he wants to visit Ghana and has called on his mum to facilitate the visit to his hometown anytime soon”,

“The father personally addressed the family on the conversations Mario has had with them recently and how passionate he is to visiting Ghana in earnest and it is basically due to the fact that everyone in the family and the community I should say, want Balotelli to come home”,

“And so the news came as refreshing to everyone and as at now, I think they want to make a visit to the chief of the town to officially notify him on it and that shows how serious this visit is being treated”, he concluded.

Mario Balotelli born in Palermo, a city in Southern Italy and was adopted by Italians.

There are two versions to the story of how Mario got adopted by Italian foster parents, the Balotellis.

Mario said in an interview that he was abandoned in a hospital by his biological parents, the Barwuahs.

They have denied this claim and insist that because they did not have enough money to foot his consistent medical bills due to his health conditions, the Balotellis offered to adopt Mario on a temporary basis but never brought him back.“At first we were not sure but we decided it was probably best for Mario. We saw him every week and we all got on really well.

“We thought that at some point, once things had sorted out, Mario would come back to us.

But instead, every time we tried to get him back, the Balotellis kept extending the foster time,” Mr. Barwuah told the Daily Mail in UK.

The Barwuahs have since called on Mario to return to them but he rather took an Italian citizenship when he turned 18 and actually changed his surname to Balotelli.

Mario has ignored the ‘return home’ call and rather continues to shock the world with the two things he knows how to do best: playing amazing football and acting crazy.

The former Inter Milan striker has three biological siblings: Abigail, Enoch and Angel Barwuah. 20-year-old Enoch who has had trials at Stoke City and Sunderland.
