Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey has mentioned Spanish giants Barcelona as his dream club.
Nettey tells www.ghanaweb.com that he is a big fan of the four-time European champions and playing for them will be a realization of his dreams.
The 23-year-old revealed that he used to be a Manchester United fan until Ronaldinho joined the Catalan giants.
He said that he idolized Ronaldinho growing up and was hurt when he joined Barcelona instead of Manchester United.
To overcome the disappointment, Nettey crossed carpets to Barcelona and he has no regrets over the decision.
“It’s Barcelona and I love their style of play. I was a Man Utd supporter but when they failed to sign Ronaldinho I left for Barca. Ronaldinho was my idol growing up so I had to follow him and I have admired them ever since”.
For a Barcelona fan it is unsurprising for Nettey to pick Messi over Ronaldo.
However, unlike his fellow Barcelona fans who tend to rubbish the achievement and talent of Ronaldo, Nettey has a great deal of appreciation for the Juventus’ forward’s craft.
“I won’t take anything away from Ronaldo. They are two great players. Messi is giving us performance without goals. Ronaldo’s game is about goals, he is a goal machine but Messi gives you more, he said.
