Bechem United striker Amed Toure has admitted they had to dig deep to edge MC Alger 2-1 in Accra in their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary qualifying round first leg tie.
The Ivorian shot his side into the lead when he converted a spot kick in the first half but the Algerian equalized through Secquer Mohammed.
But Kwaku Osei Bonsu nodded home the winning goal to give them a slim first leg advantage.
''We thank the Supporters for their support. It was difficult encounter but we managed to win, which was of course a perfect one. So we shall prepare very well ahead of the second league encounter in Alger,'' he told sportscrusader.com in a post match interview.
Bechem United are scheduled to play Great Olympics in their outstanding Ghana Premier League match.
