Beijing08 Decider: Free gate?

Thu, 15 Nov 2007 Source: connoisseur (radio b.a.r)

Ghana's president, John Kuffour has ordered the Football Association to throw gates open at the Ohene Djan Stadium for Friday's Olympic Games qualifier. Ghana's Black Meteors are up against Nigeria's Dream Team IV and Kuffour wants Ghanaians to come out in their numbers to watch the team and cheer them to victory.
However, the organisers of the game just want a reduction in the gate fees to get more fans inside the stadium.
John Kuffour had watched a friendly match between Ghana's Under-17 and Togo's Under-17 sides and the poor turn out prompted him to order that the gates for Friday's match be thrown open.
