UNDER-FIRE Ghana coach Claude LeRoy says Ghanaian league headline-maker, Eric Bekoe, has some catch-up to do if the player wants to play top-tier football.
The Frenchman was responding to why he left the league's current top scorer form his final squad at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations.
''He has a lot of quality. To be a good striker in a national championship, there is a big big gap and one has to improve,''
LeRoy said on Joy FM last Friday.
“Even at the beginning of the season with Asante Kotoko, I saw him twice and he's very impressive. He can be one of the players for the future-but he has to improve. He has to work to arrive at the top level. He's efficient at the goal post. You know he was with me at the Toulon Tournament in France when I was there and I also invited him in my 40 players before the Ghana 2008 tournament. So he is not far.'' The Asante Kotoko marksman has scored 9 goals in 10 league games for his side as they sit atop of the Onetouch Premier League.
