Beninoise referee for Princess/DR Congo game

Accra, Feb. 24, GNA - The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has appointed Beninoise referee Sitou Rafiatou Anike as the centre referee for the second leg of the match between Ghana's Black Princesses' and their counterparts from DR Congo on Friday, February 26, at the El Wak Stadium, Accra.

According to information gathered by the GNA Sports from the secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), referee Anike will be assisted on the lines by fellow Beninoise Sonia Louise and Noussiratou with Ghana's Vivienne Aggor as the fourth referee.


Izeta Wesley of Liberia will act as the Match Commissioner for the day. The Black Princesses' could be on their way to Germany for the fifth edition of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Under-19 Soccer tournament, if they are able to maintain their 2-0 defeat over the Congolese in the first leg, which was played two weeks ago. In another development, Ghanaian referee Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has been appointed to handle the second leg of the qualifiers between Nigeria and South Africa in Nigeria.

The 2008 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Award winner will be assisted on the lines by compatriots Abigail Sowah and Mercy Seidu with Ajayi Foluso of Nigeria as the fourth referee whilst Aisha Nalule from Uganda will be the Match Commissioner.
