Berekum Chelsea have abandoned plans of pulling out of the 2014 CAF Champions League and confirmed they are ready to host their first qualifying round opponent.

GHANASoccernet.com understands the club have received assurances from their sponsors and can now entertain FC Atlabara of South Sudan.

Berekum Chelsea will also be cushioned by the US$ 20,000 financial support received from the Ghana Football Association.

“We have agreed to play in the competition after careful deliberations and want to give it our best shot,” a club source told GHANASoccernet.com

“We have talked to sponsors and that has given us the wherewithal to play in the competition.”

Berekum Chelsea’s coffers have dried up after president Emmanuel Kyeremeh relocated to Canada.

The club made a huge impact on their debut in Africa two years ago and reached the Group stage of the 2012 CAF Champions League.
