The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has ordered a temporary ban on Berlin FC from using the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman as its home venue with immediate effect.

This decision has become necessary due to the unfortunate incident that occurred during Match Day 16 between Berlin FC and FC Tanga played on Saturday, 25th June 2016.

Officials of Berlin FC allegedly prevented the GFA/DOL camera operator from entering the inner perimeter to cover the match and prevented the referees from entering the dressing room during recess till the police intervened.

This decision is in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations which states that: “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed”.

The Division One League Board will determine the venue for the club’s subsequent home matches in accordance with the provision of Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations.

This order is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee.

Meanwhile, the Disciplinary Committee has been charged to hear the case in accordance with the GFA Regulations.
