AS EMPEROR GAZA TRAVEL & TOURS GATHERS FANS TO CHEER THEM UP
The National Amputee Football Team, The Black Challenge, have stepped up preparations for a specially arranged tour of the United Kingdom (UK) to play a series of matches in readiness for the 3rd Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football (CANAF 2011).
The tour, scheduled to begin from the 19th to 30th July, 2011, would see the team play their Great Britain counterparts in Manchester, as well as the Manchester Amputee FC, Veterans and Cerebral Palsy teams, among others.
Under the supervision of Coaches Ali Jarrah and Benjamin Charles Armah, the players have been put under a stringent training regime that includes dawn training at the beach, to ensure that they are fit to play the matches in the right physical frame.
At the administrative level, the Ghana Amputee Football Federation (GAFF) are liaising with their British counterparts, Great Britain Amputee Football (GBAF) to finalise all documentation in connection with the trip.
Meanwhile, Emperor Gaza Travel and Tours has also started mobilising fans to cheer the team up in the UK, as they engage their counterparts, in line with a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U) signed with GAFF.
The Chief Executive Officer of Emperor Gaza Travel and Tours, who also doubles as the head of the Emperor Gaza International Foundation, Mr Prince Charles Sackeyfio, has assured fans of a great experience in the UK.
Mr Sackeyfio, whose foundation sponsored the recent Media Launch of CANAF 2011 at the prestigious Alisa Hotel in Accra and other trial matches of the team, has called on the Ghanaian community in around Manchester and beyond, to attach the same seriousness they give to the Black Stars, the senior national football team, to the Black Challenge to spur them on.
In another development, Mr Francis Adjetey Sowah, President of Amputee Football Federation Africa (AFFA) and GAFF, has announced that an account has been opened for individuals, corporate bodies and philanthropists desirous of supporting the Black Challenge and the CANAF 2011, to do so through that channel.
The account, in the name of the Ghana Amputee Football Federation (GAFF) is with Access Bank, Osu Branch, and its number is 0030100043071. He urged all contributors to contact the Federation on telephone number 0277608007 for acknowledgement and appreciation.
