get ready for CANAF 2011





The Black Challenge, Ghana’s national amputee soccer team


hope to get the best of fine tuning ahead of this year’s Cup of African Nations


for Amputee Football (CANAF) when they travel to the United Kingdom for a


training tour by the end of the month.



Ghana which won the first CANAF in 2007 in Sierra Leone but


due to financial difficulties failed to appear at the 2nd edition in


Liberia two years ago to defend the trophy, but now target triumph in the 3rd


edition in Accra from October 15-25.


According to Francis Adjetey Sowah, President of the Ghana


Amputee Football Federation (GAFF), the specially


arranged tour of the United Kingdom (UK) to play a series of matches in

readiness for the tournament against their Great Britain counterparts in


Manchester, as well as the Manchester Amputee FC, Veterans and Cerebral Palsy


teams, among others, is all apt with the bid to host and win.

“CANAF 2011 is host and


win, no question about that and the training tour to the UK will add more


experience to the team’s preparation,” Mr. Sowah who also doubles as President


of Amputee Football Federation of Africa (AFFA), says.

philanthropists desirous of supporting the Black Challenge and the CANAF 2011,
