Ghana's U-20 women's national team, the Black Princesses, have left for Colombia to participate in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
The team departed from Accra on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, evening heading to Bogota to continue their preparations for the tournament, which kicks off on August 31.
This marks Ghana's seventh consecutive appearance at the World Cup, and the team aims to advance beyond the group stage for the first time.
The Black Princesses are placed in Group E, where they will face former champions Japan, New Zealand, and Austria.
Ghana's campaign will start with a match against Austria on September 2, 2024, followed by games against Japan and New Zealand.
The team has been gearing up for the World Cup since winning the African Games gold in March 2024 initially training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence before moving to Cape Coast.
