The Ghana female national football team have departed Accra for Tokyo, Japan, ahead of their international friendly match on July 13, 2024.

The team, led by coach Nora Häuptle, includes 19 players, technical staff, and management members.

Four additional players will join the team on Sunday. The Black Queens have been training in Accra for four days to prepare for the match against Japan, former World Champions.

The friendly is part of Ghana's build-up to the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco and Japan's preparation for the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

The match will occur at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium on July 13.

Häuptle will use this opportunity to assess her players and fine-tune her team for future competitions.

The Black Queens are eager to make a positive impact in Japan and demonstrate their readiness for the upcoming WAFCON tournament.
