Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has stepped in to resolve the “embarrassing” bonus row that has engulfed the Black Queens, assuring the team that the Association is doing its best to end their unpaid bonus impasse soon.
The Queens returned to Ghana last Sunday after winning gold in the All Africa games in Congo, but their feat has largely been overshadowed by their protest as they continue to be holed out at the M-Plaza hotel in Accra.
The players are demanding for their bonuses and prize money of over $20,000 each to be paid to them before they leave the M-Plaza Hotel.
The GFA President who paid a visit to the team on Monday stated that the GFA is unhappy about the situation is ready to reach a common ground with all stakeholders to end the stand-off.
“No one is happy with the current happenings and we should all be committed to resolving the problem. We are all not having any sleep about the concerns of the team”, the GFA President told the team in a meeting. It’s unfortunate and we have to find a way around it. There should be a solution soon because it’s embarrassing everybody,” Nyantakyi said.
