Former celebrated Ghanaian Soccer International, Abdul Razak, who until this week was the assistant coach of the national senior football squad, the Black Stars, has been axed from his job. Razak was crowned the Golden Boy during his professional football career with Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars due to his prowess as a prolific goal scorer. He is now to handle a proposed national under-15 team. In an interview with JOY ONLINE, a source within the Ghana Football Association said Razak lacks the initiative and forcefulness to handle the senior national football team. The Source said while it was expected that he should have picked some tactical experience from the former Black Stars Coach, Guiseppe Dossena, last Sunday’s match against the Crocodiles at Lesotho proved otherwise. The Source added that Razak’s performance in the match, in which the Black Stars struggled to draw 3-3, proved that he could not live up to the job since he simply left the task of boosting up the team’s confidence when they were down by two goals to acting coach, Ossam Duodu. Handlers for the national team are therefore expected to name a new assistant coach before Cup of Nations Match.
