Black Stars’ vintage performance over their Sudan counterparts has heightened Youth and Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah’s hopes of Ghana’s qualification to the Mundial in Brazil.

Hon Afriyie-Ankrah returned from Sudan where he watched a ten-man Ghana team beat Sudan at their back yard, and had predicted that nothing would stop the Stars in their quest for a third World Cup appearance.

The sports minister has categorically stated in an interview “We are going to Brazil and nothing can stop us.”

According to Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah, the team is well motivated and conditioned to win their reaming matches to book a place in the forthcoming Rio De Janiro championship.

He revealed that his outfit, the country’s football governing body, GFA, and government were putting strategic measures in place to make sure Ghana did not miss the Brazil 2014 train.

According to the minister, his recent close association with the team-from Ethiopia to Sudan reveals a determined team that wants to go somewhere and make Ghana proud.

He has, however, cautioned to scrap complacency from their vocabulary as they travel to face less-fancied Lesotho this weekend.

The team is currently pitching camp in the capital city of the Republic of South Africa, Johannesburg, to firm up preparations before this weekend’s World Cup qualifier.

Ghana enjoyed the Group D summit momentarily after defeating Sudan 3-1 on foreign land but was dislodged 24hours later following the 4-0 thrashing of Lesotho by Zambia, who are a point ahead of Ghana.
