Coach Avram Grant has been dealt a major blow with reports that four key players could miss the Black Stars friendly against Canada on Tuesday.
Reports reaching Allsports.com.gh indicate that Andre Ayew has joined captain Asamoah Gyan, Christian Atsu and Rabiu Mohammed on the sidelines ahead of the international friendly match.
Ayew reportedly suffered a knock during last Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, whiles captain Gyan is still recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained while playing for his Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in September.
Bournemouth winger Christian Atsu and Rabiu Mohammed of Kuban Krasnodar have reportedly decided to sit out the 13 October date to fully recover from their various injuries ahead of a busy schedule this season.
The latest injury to Ayew means either Jonathan Mensah or Emmanuel Agyemang Badu will captain Ghana against Canada on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a local contingent which is led by assistant coach Maxwell Konadu, as goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, will fly out of the country on Wednesday evening to join Grant who is already in the USA.
