Black Stars players have committed to a new code of conduct as they begin their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this weekend at home.
The Ghana Football Association held a meeting with players invited for the matches against Uganda and Togo this month at their camping base in Kumasi on Tuesday.
There has been the need to instill discipline in camp after some disquiet rocked their World Cup campaign in Brazil.
Per the new deal, players will no longer be paid in cash and there was a re-orientation exercise.
“There were a number of issues that we discussed with the players; one is about the code of conduct with players, mode of payment of monies- we are moving from the payment of cash to cheques,” Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi said.
“We settled on the payment through the cheque system. We also looked at issues arising from the World Cup-The need to re-dedicate and re-commit ourselves to the course of the country.
“The meeting was very successful because he engaged players and also got them to commit themselves to doing well for the country and they welcomed the suggestion we put across.”
Ghana will play Uganda at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday before engaging the Hawks of Togo on 10 September in Lome.
