Accra, May 25, GHP - The senior national team, the Black Stars will participate in a four nation tournament next month in London, known as the Unity Cup.
The Black Stars together with the Super Eagles from Nigeria, Jamaica?s Reggae Boyz and the national team from Trinidad and Tobago would be vying for the Unity Cup to be played at the Upton Park, the home ground of English premiership side, Aston Villa.
The competition, which starts on Saturday 11 June is an annual soccer fiesta geared at uniting Africans in the Diaspora.
Ghana?s Black Stars who would be picking up fifty thousand dollars as appearance fee are expected to field a second string side for the Unity Cup event due to its 2006 World Cup commitments.
Nigeria?s Super Eagles beat Jamaica to win 2004 event.
Meanwhile the local components of the Black stars were expected to begin camping in Obuasi on Wednesday as the Stars rev up for the upcoming double header against Burkina Faso and South Africa.
The eight local players are expected to be joined by their foreign counterparts after this weekend?s closing round of matches in Europe. Ghana hosts, Burkina Faso in Kumasi on 5 June.
