Atalanta sign Ibrahim Sulemana
Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has joined Europa League winner Atalanta Bergamo Calcio in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old joins the Italian outfit from rivals Cagliari ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Sulemana has been one of the finest youngsters in the Italian league since moving to the Serie A in 2021, where he featured for Hellas Verona and Cagliari.
The hardworking defensive midfielder helped both clubs survive another campaign in the league after scoring to secure Hellas Verona's survival during the 2022 playoff against Spezia. He was also a key cog in Claudio Ranieri's side as they survived relegation last season.
His performances in the Italian league have seen him gain the attention of some of the big clubs in Europe, with Atalanta making a quick move to secure his services.
Sulemana will join his teammates for pre-season as preparations get underway for a busy campaign for Atalanta, which starts with a Super Cup clash against Real Madrid.
Atalanta will also participate in the UEFA Champions League after winning the Europa League last season.
