Ghana have improved one place up in the latest edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Thursday.

The Black Stars, who play Sudan on Friday in the qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup are now ranked at 21, overtaking former world champions, Brazil. With their point build up gaining fourteen more, Ghana now has 887 points, thus 15 better than Brazil, the host of next year's World Cup.

Kwesi Appiah's team are still ranked second on the African continent behind Ivory Coast with Mali in third place.

There was no change within the top four from last month's as champions, Spain hold onto the number one spot ahead of Germany, Argentina and Croatia.

According to FIFA, the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup and the latest round of qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will ensure plenty of movement in the next edition of the FIFA Ranking.

The results of 30 friendlies up to 2 June have been taken into account for the current edition of the FIFA Ranking, with the results of the FIFA World Cup qualification matches on 4 June to be included in the next edition.
