The Black Stars will join the Dutch national team to embark on a campaign to promote hygiene and clean water for all, after their friendly game in Rotterdam, Holland, on May 31.

This campaign, spearheaded by the Dutch Royal Football Association in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association, dubbed: “Football for Water,” is to help in the advocacy for clean water accessibility for every person.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands in Ghana, Mr. Hans Docter, mentioned this in his residence in Accra during the King’s Day celebration, which is a national holiday in the Netherlands to celebrate the King’s birthday.

He said there will be various events to mark the campaign in Holland.

Mr. Docter announced that there will be a public viewing of the friendly match in his residence, as well as in Kumasi, and that he wished the best team wins.

On the World Cup in Brazil this year, the ambassador acknowledged the tough position the two countries find themselves, but was convinced both teams would remain stronger as they progress in the competition.

The Dutch national team will face Spain, Chile and Australia at the World Cup in Group B while the Black Stars face Germany, Portugal and USA in Group G.
