Black Stars to know 2013 CAN qualifying opponent on July 5

Ghana's opponents for the final round of qualifying for the CAN 2013 Africa Cup of Nations will be revealed next month at the official draw ceremony by Caf.

The continent's sport governing body will hold the draw in Johannesburg , South Africa, on 5th July 2012.


Ghana and 15 other teams that took part in the 2012 AFCON finals will join the last stage of the qualifying campaign and will be paired against the 14 teams that have reached the last qualifying round for next year's finals.

A final play-off will be played between September and October and the 15 winners (after home and away matches) from these 30 sides will join hosts South Africa at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals to run from January 19 - February 10.


Teams for final round draw: Ghana, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Niger, Angola, Botswana, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali, Senegal, Tunisia, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Libya, Sudan, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Togo, Malawi, Uganda, Cameroon, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cape Verde, Algeria, Egypt or Central African Republic.
