Black Stars voted Team of the Year

The men's senior national team, the Black Stars have been awarded the 2010 Team of the Year by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana at their annual Awards night on Saturday.

This followed a remarkable year of great performances in the year under review, starting with a silver medal winning feat at African Nations Cup in Angola and a last eight berth at the Fifa World Cup finals in South Africa.

Fred Pappoe, FA Vice President and Chairman of the Black Stars management committee together with striker Asamoah Gyan collected with the award on behalf of the team.

Ex-captain of the team, Stephen Appiah was decorated with a special award for his dedication and valour for the Black Stars.
