Former national team captain Stephen Appiah wants the fans to rally round the Black Stars on Sunday during the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan in Kumasi.
He told Kumasi-based FOX FM that Ghanaian supporters should take a cue from how other fans behave in other top leagues.
“Our fans should learn from what fans do in the English Premier League. Those fans can win games for clubs. So for all those going to the stadium on Sunday, they should keep cheering the Black Stars on.”
Appiah, who was the first man to captain a Ghana World Cup squad, also told FOX FM that it is important that the fans keep cheering even when things are tough for the Black Stars.
“If the game is getting tough and the fans start booing, things will go wrong for us. So since we need these points from this match, the fans have to keep cheering until the end of the match,” he added.
