Ghana defender Yaw Frimpong says the Black Stars are bent paying back the people of Tamale with an emphatic victory over Guinea on Wednesday in a Group E 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The team has been given a red carpet treatment since arriving in the Northern regional capital after a rather unreceptive welcome in Kumasi last month ago for the game against Uganda.
Frimpong, who has been overwhelmed with the rapturous welcome, says the team is pumped up to return the love to the people with a good win.
“I am must say we have had several welcomes but to have this kind of welcome is over whelming,” Frimpong told GHANASoccernet.com.
“The people have really made us feel at home and we are looking forward to repaying them with a good win.
“We are confident that we will respond in the right way.”
