AUTHENTIC INFORMATION pieced together by Guide Sports, indicate that, tactics to drop Arminia Bielefeld?s top striker, Isaac Boakye, from the Black Stars, fell on rocks, reports Isaac Franklin.

After failing to secure a US visa, to feature in Ghana?s friendly battle against Mexico, in Dallas, on Thursday morning, the player was purposely accused of not willing to don the national jersey.

However, a trustworthy source from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), disclosed to Guide Sports, on Monday that, there would be no room for dirty tricks, which led to the dropping of the clever marksman, on several occasions. Fresh reports emanating from Germany, have also revealed that, Boakye was ever-ready to don the national jersey, so as to help bolster the Stars? infective attacking machinery, but for the visa refusal.

All things being equal, Boakye would showcase his devastating goal-scoring prowess, in the Stars? subsequent friendly battles, as he beams with delight at helping Ghana spring surprises, at the Germany 2006 World Cup finals. In the course of 2005, Boakye?s absence from the Stars, it would be recalled, was attributed to an incitement by Anthony Yeboah, Ghana?s greatest all-time lethal marksman.

Interestingly, when Yeboah spilled the beans that, the reported notion was a ploy to drop the player from the Stars, Boakye was subsequently re-called. As if the cynics? tricks had met the death knell, he was ignored ahead of Ghana?s away-World Cup Qualifier against Cape Verde.

Thereafter, Boakye was blamed for not scoring in the Stars? home match against the Cranes of Uganda.

The canny striker?s name was further omitted in the squad, for the just-ended African Nations Cup, in Egypt.

Significantly, after realising Boakye?s importance, the FA quickly drafted him into the national set-up, only to receive another bash.
