Boakye returns to training

Black Stars striker, Isaac Boakye has resumed training after almost a month of inactivity due to a knee injury.

The Armenia Belefield forward joined his colleagues at training yesterday, but only for some light running around the pitch for half an hour as the first team went through their usual rigorous regimen.

Belefield team doctors would today continue to monitor the Ghanaian striker?s progress as he tries to complete his rehabilitation program before joining the club?s first team in serious training.

Earlier last week, another Black Stars striker Matthew Amoah finally returned to action for Borrusia Dortmund after sitting on the sidelines for nearly two months.

The striker had been battling a niggling knee injury picked up during the African Cup of Nations in January.

Amoah came off the bench for Ghanaian-born winger David Odonkor in the 59th minute in Dortmund?s 4-2 win over Hamburg last Saturday.

The game was Amoah?s first for Dortmund since he was signed on from Dutch side, Vitesse Arnhem in January.

The recovery of the two attackers now leave Abubakari Yakubu and his Vitesse Arnhem teammate, Fred Benson, as the only Ghanaian players in Europe still on the bench as a result of injury.
