Geoffrey Acheampong’s contract signing with Ligue 1 side SC Bastia has prompted celebration from the likes of Jerome Boateng and Nigel de Jong on social media.

19-year-old Acheampong put pen to paper on his first professional deal with the Corsican side on Wednesday, having previously represented the University of Santa Barbara.

The forward—who is part of the Ghana U-20 set up—clearly has some high-profile admirers, with various big-name players taking to Twitter to acknowledge the youngster’s move.
