Tema, March 27, GNA - The 11th Annual Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, April 8.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Manager of the Club who announced this at Tema on Monday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which is opened to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country is being sponsored by Afko Group of Companies. He said the event which shall be played under the rules of the World's Golf governing body and the local rules of the Club has Handicap One to 18 as the entry requirement for the Men with the Ladies event pegged at Handicap 24.
Among an array of golfers who had registered for the competition expected to attract more than 150 golfers, are Nana Antwi Boasiako, John Roger, Kwabena Boakye, William Yeboah, E.T. Mensah, Bright Adablanu and petit Nicolo Catto.
The Professionals would battle each other in a 36-Hole Scratch event starting from Friday, April 7. Six prizes would be awarded in the Men's section with four prizes going to the Ladies.
Mr Kim, former Chief Executive Officer of Afko Group of Companies who single-handedly sponsored Ghana's contingent to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea, was elected President of the Tema Country Golf Club in 1989 and died in 1995.
Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Majority Leader of Parliament and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, who is also the President of the Tema Country Golf Club is the Special Guest of Honour.
