Bombers Fly Out for Youth Olympic Championships

A 19-man Amateur Boxing Contingent, comprising seven Officials and 12 Boxers left Accra yesterday for the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships scheduled for Baku, Azerbaijan, from April 20 to May 2, 2010.

Ghana's Contingent is scheduled to depart Baku on Monday, May 3, 2010, after the Championship, and return home on Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

The team is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Council.

The Ghana Amateur Boxing Association seizes this opportunity to thank the Sports Ministry and the Sports Council for facilitating Ghana's participation in this Youth Olympics Qualifiers.

GABA hopes to use the opportunity to expose its youthful and first time Boxers to competitive International Amateur Boxing.

The team was seen off at the Airport by Mr. Ray Quarcoo, who revealed that the competition is a test match for them.
