The books and boots Academy is inspired by the path and vision of the renowned Barcelona FC Academy that has produced some of the worlds best footballers including Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Lionel Messi over a period spanning two decades.

Initially targeting inner city communities and deprived neighbourhoods, the non-profit organisation has organised tours in over 120 communities across Ghana since 2009.

Books and Boots was first introduced as a partner to the One Goal Project (Education for All) just ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

A primary objective of Books and Boots is to encourage youngsters to take their education seriously through reading by joining after school reading clubs.

The reading for leisure and recreation is spearheaded by Active Minds Reading Club.

The Eastern region trip was supported by Kumasi based Aboude Fast Food and Alo Natural Health drink based in Osu- Accra.
