Boxing finals

The finals of the Ga Homowo amateur boxing round-off takes place this evening at the Accra Sports Stadium with 11 bouts from the light flyweight to the heavyweight divisions.

In the heavyweight division, Paa Kwesi of Fit Square Boxing Club will take on Kojo Awam, while Okwei Mensah of Stadium Club takes on Wisdom Akoto of Saga Boxing Club in the light heavyweight division.

Middleweight Ernest Amuzu of Zoom-Zoom Club takes on Mohammed Akron of Sparta while Joseph Opanka of De Oak Club takes on Thomas Awinbono of Fit Square in a light middleweight final contest.

Godwin Cudjoe of Panix Boxing Club takes on Prince Abubakari of Osu Ultimate Club in the welterweight division. In the same division, Abdulai Amidu of Fit Square engages King Abbey of Lotto Gold.

The rest are featherweight Yakubu Amidu Fit Square versus Aminu Turkson (Fit Square), bantamweights Aryee Bruce (Wisdom) versus Michael Barnor (Panix) Flyweights Affum Moses (Wisdom) versus Patrick Okine (Wisdom) and light flyweights Joseph Martey (Attoh Quarshie) versus Ishmael Clottey (Panix).

The tournament which starts at 5 p.m., is under the auspices of the Greater Accra Boxing Association and the MP for Odododiodoo Constituency, Hon Reginald Nii Bi Ayibont.
