Goalkeeper Razak Brimah says he does not care about what his critics say but is only focused on proving he deserves a return to the Black Stars.
The 27-year-old emerged one of the returnees in the latest Ghana squad released by coach Kwesi Appiah for the opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.
Brimah has not been invited to the Black Stars team since conceding three goals in the international friendly defeat to Japan almost a year ago.
His move to Spanish second tier club CD Mirandes is also deemed by experts as a too low competition worthy of representation in the Ghana national team.
But the ex Nania FC shot-stopper insists he has no ears for his critics as he look to seize the opportunity to eventually be the first choice of the Black Stars.
“Everyone is entitled to his opinion but at the end of the day, it is the coach’s opinion that matters,” he told Metro FM.
“Football is not about too much talk, it’s about the work you put into it and how you perform. “You can’t have people on your side all the time. All I pray for is that I get a chance.
“I know I can do much much better if the coach gives me the chance to prove to my nation that I am good.”
Brimah has had just two caps for the Black Stars – first a second half introduction in the 2-2 draw against Turkey where his long throw from his penalty box turned into an assist for Asamoah Gyan.
His other outing for Ghana was not as memorable as he was on the receiving end in a 3-1 defeat to Japan months later.
