Skyy FC President and owner, Wilson Arthur, has urged that the Black Stars be restructured around committed players following their struggles in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Arthur's comments come after the team’s disappointing performance against Sudan, which further jeopardized their qualification chances.

The Black Stars, led by coach Otto Addo, were aiming to bounce back after a 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw with Niger in their opening Group F matches.

However, they were held to a goalless draw by Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg before suffering a 2-0 defeat in the return leg.

These results have left the team’s prospects of securing a spot in next year’s AFCON tournament in Morocco uncertain.

Addressing the team’s struggles, Wilson Arthur, who also serves as the Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, emphasized the need for a squad built around players who are fully dedicated to the national team.

“We need to take players who are really committed. Trust me, I believe that this Sudanese team, Dreams FC can beat this team, Medeama can beat this team, and even Samartex can beat this Sudanese team," he told Citi Sports.

The Black Stars are set to regroup for their final Group F games against Angola and Niger next month, with hopes of reviving their chances of qualifying for the AFCON tournament.
