Cape Coast, Feb. 14, GNA - Winneba C.K. Gyamfi Academy made a bright start at the Central Region Division Two Middle League when they whipped Winneba Agona Mensakrom Alpha Stars 9-1 in their match at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium.
The one-sided affair saw the Academy lads leading 5-1 in the first half.
On resumption of the second half, the Gyamfi Academy continued to dominate play and went ahead to bang in four more goals through Samuel Inkoom, Alhassan Salam, Nathaniel Baako and Stephen Gurah to bring the full time scores to 9-1 in their favour. In another encounter, Twifo United beat Denkyira United 5-4 on penalties.
Twifo United fought from two goals down at half time to draw 2-2 at full time to bring the match to the penalty shoot out. When the penalty rule was invoked, Twifo United scored three goals against two by their opponents.
