Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has stressed that nothing has been achieved by his side yet, despite the Porcupines dominating Inter Allies in a 3-0 win.

Accustomed to seeing his lads possess the ball and lord themselves over their opponents, C.K Akonnor did not see much of that in the team’s previous friendlies.

But, the dominant nature of Wednesday’s win at the Accra Sports Stadium, secured by Amos Frimpong’s 43rd-minute penalty, Naby Keita’s 65th-minute strike, and Martin Antwi’s injury-time goal, convinced him his charges are coming to grip with his philosophy.

“Inter Allies are very dangerous up front”, C. K Akonnor said of his pre-match assessment of the opponent. “We saw that they have two strikers who were very composed on the ball, so we needed to keep the ball away from them.

"What we have seen today is a good sign but, we are not done yet. I hope to continue with the work,” he stressed.

The Porcupines Warriors play the national U-23 side, the Black Meteors in Accra on Sunday, in a game the coach said would be the last before the team leaves for Kenya for the CAF Confederation Cup match against Kariobangi Stars, but Coach Ackonnor believes there is still some work on ball retention to be done.

"I didn’t like the way we lost the ball in the second half. We lost the ball every now and then, and that, for me, is a problem we must solve with Sunday’s game.
