Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold Sporting Club, Frederick Acheampong has complained of bad hospitality from their CAF Confederations Cup opponents Akonangui FC.
According to Mr. Acheampong, the Equatorial Guinean side failed to make the necessary provisions required from a home team when they were left stranded at the airport.
According to the CEO, they suspect that the home team wants to frustrate them by doing so, disclosing that a formal report would be lodged before the continental football governing body.
“Our opponents and host are refusing to do the necessary arrangements. It looks like they didn’t have any plans for us as required by CAF’s regulations.”
“I suspect they want to frustrate us but all we can do is to report them to CAF about the maltreatment,” he told Oyarepa FM.
He also threatened that the same treatment will be melted out to Akonangui FC when they host them for the second leg encounter at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
“This will mean we will also pay them back same way they are treating us. We need to find our way to Ebebeyin because they have refused to answer our calls.”
“As we speak, we making arrangements with local airlines to fly us to Ebebeyin but its not easy with our numbers about 33 to 34 people,” he added.
