Khartoum, Sudan, Feb. 8, GNA - The Confederation of African Footbal= l (CAF) has rescheduled this weekend's CAF Champions League second leg matc= h between Ghana's Aduana Stars FC and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco to 25-25 February, 2011.

This follows a request made by the Ghana League champions through the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the involvement of some of their key players and head coach currently with the local Black Stars at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Sudan.

An official of the CAF Competitions Division told GNA Sports in Khartoum that the tie was thus postponed in line with the section of the rules that permits teams with at least three players in the national team t= o request for a postponement of their matches.

In the case of Aduana Stars, they have four players at the CHAN made u= p goalkeeper Stephen Adams, defenders Godfred Saka and Emmanuel Ansong, and midfielder Bernard Don Bortey in addition to their technical director, Herbert Addo.

According to the official, the fixture was subsequently pushed forward by a fortnight just as that of the Zamalek (Egypt) versus Ulinzi Stars (Kenya), following the turmoil in Egypt amongst others. The new date is expected to give Aduana Stars adequate time to prepare in their quest to overturn the 0-3 loss suffered in Casablanca during the first leg a fortnight ago, and for coach Addo to concentrate fully on the CHAN competition.

However, Ashantigold the nation's other representative in the continental club championship will face Ivorian Club Sewe Sports San Pedro on Sunday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, Obuasi in the CAF Confederation Cup. The Miners won the first leg 1-0 in San Pedro.
