Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong has stressed that his penalty missed against CARA Club in the first leg of the preliminary round of the Confederation Cup is still haunting him.

Last Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kotoko missed three penaltis out of the four penalties that was awarded to them.

Saddick Adams missed Kotoko’s first penalty, Frimpong stepped forward to take the Kumasi giants’ second penalty but his strike was saved by CARA Club shot stopper Massah Chancel.

Baba Mahama fluffed Kotoko’s third penalty but Yakubu Mohammed managed to score the club’s fourth penalty late in the game.

“I still don’t know how i failed to score from the spot last Sunday,” Frimpong told Asempa FM.

“After the game i watched my kick again and my strike was too poor. We missed our first kick and getting another penalty was important but i let my team down by missing it,” he added.

Kotoko will go into the reverse fixture fortnight time with a 1-0 scoreline.
