The Technical Director of the Ghana FA, Francis Oti Akenteng, has attributed the CHAN Black Stars 0-3 defeat to Japan’s Under-23 side on Wednesday to inadequate preparation.

According to some pundits, the scoreline is a true reflection of the poor quality of players in the Ghana Premier League.

Ghana conceded three first half goals after Shinya Yajima bagged a brace in the 11th and 15th minutes before Cayman Togashi chipped the ball over goalkeeper Richard Ofori in the 30th minute.

Akenteng believes the Japanese Sumurai Blue had prepared better ahead of the game.

“I don’t think Ghanaians should blame this team so well. The debate should be ill preparation but it was for a course," he told Starr Sports.

"The game was for a course, but the CHAN team has been dormant and coming up against well prepared side just 10 days it will be difficult. Their goals came in the first 30 minutes and after they couldn’t score again”, he added.

Japan’s U-23 are preparing for the summer Olympics in Rio where they have drawn Nigeria, Colombia and Sweden in Group B.
