Communications director of Asante Kotoko Sarfo Duku Esq. has reiterated every transfer business the team will conduct would have to be sanctioned by head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor.
The Kotoko management member says Akonnor has been given absolute power and is fully responsible for which player comes into and leaves the club.
Akonnor, who just signed a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors, has been tasked by the management of the club to win the Champions league within the shortest possible time and one important area the club has promised not to interfere is player recruitment.
“You see player recruitment is under the jurisdiction of the coach. If the coach recommends this or that player to us that he is satisfied then we shall go ahead to examine those players medically and offer them contracts.” Sarfo Duku said at the post match press conference of the Kotoko 3 Save African Child 1 game on Sunday.
“But for now the coach hasn’t said anything and so we still have to wait for him to so” Duku added.
The former Ghana Black Stars captain who sat beside Sarfo Duku at the Babayara press conference room welcome Duku’s declaration with a smile of happiness.
Abass Mohammed, Naby Keita Laye are some of the players that have to impress Akonnor if they are to win contracts with the club.
