Head Coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Charles Kwablah Akonnor is targeting a win ahead of his side’s match week 12 fixture against Techiman Eleven Wonders in the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.
The Porcupine Warriors are winless in their last 2 matches in the novelty competition. After drawing against Bechem United in front of their home crowd in Kumasi last weekend, the Reds had to succumb to a 1-0 painful defeat at the hands of Regional rivals, Obuasi Ashanti Gold on Sunday, May, 12, 2019.
Speaking to the media after that loss, Coach CK Akonnor indicated that his team will have to recover from their poor run of form and return to winning ways when they host Eleven Wonders in midweek.
“We need to win. No doubt about that. We need to win. How we win it doesn’t matter. We need to win to get on track or else we will be out of the competition and it is important that we win that match. But again we need to improve on the way we play”, he said.
With Kotoko hoping to play in any of CAF’s interclub competitions next season, they will need to beat Wonders at all cost to keep their hopes of making it into the next stage of the Special Competition intact.
The midweek fixture with Techiman Eleven Wonders will kick off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 15:00GMT.
