CK Akonnor to name first Black Stars squad on Tuesday for Sudan double-header

Ghana coach CK Akonnor will on Tuesday, 3 March, 2020 announce his first squad for this month's back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The ex-Black Stars captain will name his squad in front of the media at the Accra City Hotel.

Akonnor recently returned from a tour of Europe, where he met some old players to share his plans with them.

He also had talks with players of Ghanaian origin and tried to convince them to play for the Black Stars.

It has been reported that not more than five home-based players will make the squad for the doubleheader.

The Black Stars will host Sudan on 27 March 2020 in Cape Coast and the return leg in three days time.

Ghana top the Group C table after winning all two matches against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
