The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to maintain all competitions despite the outbreak of the coronavirus.

CAF said it took the decision because the World Health Organisation (WHO) says no African country till date has been declared a high-risk country.

CAF, in a statement, said it has been informed of the restrictive measures taken by the authorities of some member associations and is in contact to find solutions on a case-by-case basis, with the option of the organisation of matches behind closed doors.

Regarding the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) Cameroon 2020, CAF noted that a delegation from its Medical Committee is scheduled to visit Cameroon on 14 and 15 March 2020.

The purpose of the mission is to assess all the preventive measures taken by the Local Organising Committee.

The competition is scheduled for 4 to 25 April 2020.
