Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars will have their interest in WAFA right back Caleb Amankwah truncated following the player’s declaration that he is not ready to play for any local side.
Amankwah, one of the brightest spots of the WAFA side this season has been on the wanted list of the Porcpine Warriors and the Ogya Boys ahead of their CAF Confederation Cu and Champions League campaigns.
Aduana Stars have officially requested for the player from his current employers but the hardworking defender who guided his side to second spot in the league with the least number of goals conceded has his eyes set on a deal outside the country.
“Our sporting director (Brooklyn) decided to move me abroad but am yet to hear from him again”, he told Kumasi-based FOX 97.9 FM.
“He informed me about the letter from Aduana am a bit confused because I don’t really know his position for now and am a bit worried. He has however assured me of a chance to travel abroad and am yet to take a decision though’’, he said.
“My aim is to travel. I don’t have in mind playing in the Ghana league again, I want to travel. Even if any Ghanaian club brings an offer am not ready to go. Am aware Aduana have presented their transfer request letter (to WAFA) but to me as a player I don’t have in mind playing for Aduana, all am expecting is the fulfillment of what he (Brooklyn) told me” Caleb emphasised.
Amankwah made 27 starts for WAFA this season and his versatility provided a backup for the side when center back Musah Nuhu was sidelined due to injury.
