La Cote D’Ivoire captain N’Guessan Yao Serge is confident that he and his team mates can overturn the 2-1 defeat they suffered at Kumasi and prevent the Local Black Stars from qualifying for next year’s CHAN tournament in Rwanda.
The AFAD midfielder maintains he is ready to lead the Local Elephants to a great victory at the Stade Robert Champroux after the narrow loss in the first leg.
“We took the lead in Kumasi but we allowed them to come back to win the game. The most important thing is that we got the away goal. It will be a different ball game alltogether in Abidjan and we will win and qualify.” Serge told the Ivorian Press.
Ghana have been Runners-up in the CHAN tournament twice (Côte d’Ivoire in 2009 and in South Africa in 2014) and will be hoping to qualify and go a step further in Rwanda next January.
The crunch game will kick off at 17h30 CAT on Friday 30 October in Abidjan.
